WELCOME
to our NEW Web Page -
Women
2 Women -
In thinking about Emmanuel's Women's Ministry
and the responsibilities entrusted to us as Christian women - as moms and grandmothers,
aunts and nieces, and daughters and sisters
- the idea was conceived for us to have an 'identity'
(Women2Women) and a
'virtual place' (this page) unique to
who we are - the Emmanuel sisterhood.
Please take a moment-if you please- and sign our Guestbook.

SECRET
SISTER SOCIETY
In an effort to continually build relationships among Emmanuel's women
and because we need each other, we hope that you will choose to
participate in the Secret Sister Society (our Emmanuel name for
'secret pals'). This is how it will work:
This seven-month long program will begin with a
fellowship event during which participants will draw the name of a
'secret sister.' Each participant is then encouraged to pray for
and to perform random acts of kindness and love toward her 'secret
sister' in an anonymous fashion. (Additionally, we are
encouraged to pray also for our 'sister's' husband.) The program (normally) will begin
in the fall and will be brought to a close in early spring of the
following year with a 'revealing' party.
Because of our late start, our
first term ran from February through
August. Beginning in the fall of 2009 and thereafter, the terms
will run from October through April. (These dates take into
consideration the opening and closing months of school.)
Each August during a 'Just 4 Fun' Ladies
Fellowship, we will disclose the names of our 'secret sister.' New
forms will begin to be made available for those of us who wish to
participate in the Secret Sister Society for the upcoming term.
Ladies, please complete a form, providing your
name and other requested personal information. Completed forms
will indicate your desire to 'have' and to 'be' a 'secret sister.'
If you do not wish to participate at this time, please do provide your
name anyway and check the box to indicate such. Forms will be made
available through the second Sunday of September of each current year. Please do join us!
(See Mary if you need a form!)

We want
to be a part of your life!

best you can for your family, church, and for God.
It is our
desire, our prayer, that through the EWomen Association we

A WORD ABOUT THIS
YEAR'S JACKSON, MS CONFERENCE - November 7-8-2008:
A great time of refreshing and spiritual nutrition was experienced by
all who attended the Extraordinary Women Conference. Ladies of
Emmanuel and several of their friends from other churches and towns (as
well as more than 3,375 other women) came together under the banner of
this event for fellowship (both physical and spiritual) and worship.
It was great to hear the laughter and easy banter among our
'sister-friends' and even more wonderful to join our hearts together in
worship and praise of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(Click
HERE for
photos!)
To kick off the conference,
Chonda Pierce delighted the audience with her 'homegrown, off-kilter'
(her words) humor. The rich and relevant
sharing sessions led by Angela Thomas, Karen Kingsbury, and Thelma Wells
provided much insight for us to consider and use. Music that
provoked praise and adoration was provided by Children of the World
Choir, Avalon, Mark Schultz, and Al Denson (who, by the way, was born in
Starkville, MS).

The next
scheduled Extraordinary Women Conference in Jackson will be in Spring
2010. This is a weekend conference for women of every age!

WORLDVIEW - DO YOU HAVE ONE?
Worldviews are like noses and opinions; everyone has one! Women -
young or not-so-young - of Emmanuel and
anyone else who may visit us here, the more important question is,
"What is your worldview?" One's worldview directly affects
everything one does and says - how one acts, how one loves, how one
talks, how one lives!
So..., what is your worldview...how strong is
your worldview? Please take this test and
determine or verify your worldview. Encourage your family to take
the test also. We are registered as a group with Worldview Weekend.com
-
http://www.worldviewweekend.com/test/register.php
- and are assigned a group code number. Our group code
number is 109632cc5.
The only info you will provide will be our
group code (copy and paste) and your first and last name.
Based on our results as a local church body, we may wish to have
Pastors Kenny
or Butch lead a class to help us develop a strong biblical worldview that is
approved by our Lord and effective in our relationships with other
people.

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES
-
- Pray about how and where God desires
to use you in His ministry to women and others at Emmanuel and
throughout our community and beyond. (Ongoing ministries include the meals ministry, nursery
ministry, van ministry, greeters ministry, etc. If interested in connecting with
our women's ministry, please speak with Mary Cole, Judy Coffey,
Lisa Walker, Rachelle McKibben, or Betty McPhail.)
- Pray for missionaries throughout the
world, those affiliated with Emmanuel, and especially for our
sisters who are engaged in 'evangelizing and
nurturing' the women and young girls in their charge.
- Pray about becoming a prayer warrior alongside
Debbie Bryson and others as they minister the gospel of Jesus Christ
with women in Russia. (See Web addresses under
'Recommended Links'.)
- Pray about the
possibility of going yourself and sharing your
faith in Russia in ministry with Debbie Bryson.
- Pray for our nation and our national
leaders to humble themselves and acknowledge the True and Living
God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ.
